SB 276 Earned Income Tax Credit 2020 Credit Calculation

Supports low-to-moderate income working families who qualify for CalEITC by authorizing taxpayers to choose between their 2019, 2020 and 2021 incomes when filing for the credit.

SB 336 COVID-19 72 Hour Notification

Ensures that our local communities are aware of any changes to the state or local public health orders by requiring them to be posted to relevant websites and emailed out on distribution lists.

SB 412 Emergency Definition: Mitigation of Future Emergencies

Updates the definition of “emergency” found within the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the Public Resources Code to include pre-emptive measures to prevent subsequent emergency situations. This will help protect life, health, property, and essential public services from damage and loss that may be caused by the initial emergency.

SB 601 First-Time Home Buyer Opportunity Act

Incentivizes homeowners to sell their homes to first-time buyers by increasing the capital gains exclusion on homes sold to first-time buyers from $250,000 to $300,000 for single filers and from $500,000 to $600,000 for married couples filing jointly.

SB 657 Electronic Notices for Telecommuting Businesses

Authorizes businesses who have employees that are working from home or telecommuting to receive specific employment-related documents electronically.

SB 675 Monthly Property Tax Installments

Authorize a County Board of Supervisors to implement a program allowing taxpayers who are 62 years of age or older, or who receive supplemental security income to pay their property taxes in monthly installments rather than in two payments per year.

SB 681 School Resource Officers  

Authorizes a school resource officer, school district police or security department to take child abuse reports as a mandated reporter.

SB 683 Local Collaboration in Regionalized Water Permitting

Provide a collaborative environment for municipal separate storm sewer system regional permitting. This will afford the opportunity for permittees who are responsible for implementation and oversight of the proposed permit to participate in the development of said permit in order to lessen financial impacts on existing programs and processes established by the permittees in their respective area.

SB 720 Funding for Domestic Violence Assistance Programs  

Authorizes recipients of Domestic Violence Assistance Program funding, or any future program implementing California Penal Code Section 13823.15, receive the entirety of the state’s portion of the grant funding at the beginning of the grant period.

SB 725 Parent Participation Preschool Pilot Program

Seeks to support preschool programs that are specifically designed to help parents and caregivers learn how to support their child’s learning and development through the parent’s weekly participation in the classroom and educational classes.

Provides financial relief to businesses and licensed professionals by allowing them to correct minor violations without being subject to a monetary penalty.
